This Saturday, many of the juniors headed down to the courts to play their tournament qualifying rounds.  Under 10s girls played a round-robin 10 point "tie-break", under 12s girls played a round-robin "short" set (first to 6 games) as did the U12s boys.

It was a fantastic display of tennis and all players really raised their games to give us a wonderful morning. Every single player should be very proud of the way they played and of the way they handled themselves. For many, this was their first taste of competitive tennis.

If I may quote one of the parents "I was really impressed with all the matches. The level of  concentration, competitiveness and in particular the behaviour and attitude was fantastic.  Not to mention the actual tennis!"

This sentiment was echoed by all parents present on the day.

We all owe Jean a big "thank you" for organising the Junior Championship and making it accessible to a wider age range. Not forgetting everything else that she has done for the Junior section in general, aided of course by our wonderful coaching team.

Congratulations to those who will go on to play at Finals Day - good luck!
